Shooting Safely
· Always read and fully understand the crossbow suppliers manual on your crossbow before shooting it.
· Keep your fingers and thumb below the flight deck out of the path of travel for the string and cable (see diagrams below).
· Use only the manufacturer's recommended crossbow bolt weights and length.
· Be mindful of your immediate surroundings when firing a crossbow.
· Always think of safety first, ensure that there are no obstructions that will hit the limbs of the crossbow. Make sure there is plenty of clearance for the limbs to move forward when shooting.
· Maintenance is important, you should wax the string (not the serving) and place a small amount of oil on the arrow track (sides of barrel).
· Never store and transport the crossbow in a cocked position!
· Crossbows are dangerous and should be treated with the upmost respect at all times.
· Never leave a crossbow shooter aged under 16 years unsupervised.
