Almost half a century ago, Bernard Horton, an accomplished gun maker and sportsman, recognized that they did not meet the needs of serious modern big game hunters. However, he realized that they did have potential to become an effective close-range hunting tool by today's standards. Horton began experimenting with designs in his workshop, creating for his own personal use. The word quickly spread about his amazing new designs and it was then that the Horton legacy was born.
